About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated System Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a key role in designing, implementing, and maintaining our organization's systems infrastructure. The System Engineer will work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to ensure the reliability, security, and performance of our IT systems.
Requirements
System Design and Implementation:
Design and implement robust, scalable, and secure systems infrastructure.
Evaluate and recommend hardware and software solutions to meet organizational needs.
System Administration:
Administer, configure, and maintain servers, operating systems, and related infrastructure components.
Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues proactively.
Security and Compliance:
Implement and enforce security best practices to safeguard systems and data.
Ensure compliance with relevant regulatory requirements and industry standards.
Network Management:
Manage and optimize network infrastructure, including routers, switches, and firewalls.
Implement and maintain VPNs and other network security measures.
Backup and Recovery:
Develop and implement backup and recovery strategies to ensure data integrity and availability.
Conduct regular backup testing and updates.
Collaboration and Communication:
Collaborate with other IT professionals and departments to implement and support IT solutions.
Communicate effectively with team members and end-users to address technical issues and provide assistance.
Documentation:
Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for systems, configurations, and procedures.
Develop and update system architecture diagrams.
Troubleshooting and Support:
Respond to and resolve system-related incidents and service requests.
Provide technical support to end-users and assist with problem resolution.
Automation:
Implement automation scripts and tools to streamline repetitive tasks and improve system efficiency.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
Proven experience as a System Engineer or similar role.
Strong knowledge of system administration, including Windows and/or Linux environments.
Familiarity with virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V).
Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure) is a plus.
Solid understanding of networking concepts and protocols.
Knowledge of security best practices and tools.
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Skills:
Certifications such as MCSE, CCNA, or AWS Certified SysOps Administrator.
Experience with configuration management tools (e.g., Ansible, Puppet).
Scripting skills (PowerShell, Bash, Python)
